purpose
Like most cities, Pittsburgh manages water in a fragmented way by a mix of different organizations operating across physical systems that separate drinking water, storm water, and sewage. Aging infrastructure and the impacts of development and climate change present challenges to maintaining water quality and threats to natural waterways that must be addressed collaboratively as a region. Partner agencies are infusing One Water principles in their work with communities, property owners, local organizations, and each other to address watershed issues holistically. They engaged evolveEA to create the One Water Guide: a critical tool for the partners to engage diverse audiences in understanding our urban water systems and advancing collaborative solutions at all scales.
